Two hosts of “The View” abruptly walked off stage during the middle of the show, shortly before they were supposed to interview Vice President Kamala Harris. The reason: The two hosts had both tested positive for COVID, even though they were both fully vaccinated. But it turns out it was a false-positive. The test results were wrong.

What happened:

Vice President Kamala Harris was set to make an in-person appearance on “The View,” but after the first commercial break, hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were told without explanation to leave their seats. Joy Behar then asked if she could introduce the vice president, but she was told to go to another commercial break. When the show came back, Behar explained to the audience what had happened: Hostin and Navarro had both tested positive for COVID.

The vice president still did the interview, but she had to do it remotely via a video feed from backstage, even though she was physically in the building.

Comedian Tim Dillon poked fun of situation, questioning on Twitter why the hosts got their test results mid-show: “Lol how do the View hosts test positive mid show? What exactly is the process over there? [Joe] Rogan tests people before every podcast and no one gets their results mid show.”

It was later revealed that the tests gave a false-positive, and the hosts were in fact negative. A producer explained that they had found out about the positive results moments before going back on-air after the first commercial break, leading to the decision to cancel the in-person interview.

Navarro commented on the situation, saying that she had spent time with several of Harris’ family members and that she worried she would be responsible for giving them Covid. “I had just spent the day with Kamala Harris’ sister, niece, and brother-in-law, so I’m thinking I’m Typhoid Mary and I’m going to wipe out the entire Harris family in one week,” she said, even though the vice president is vaccinated.

Navarro also responded to a tweet from Donald Trump, Jr., in which he said, “Given the Ana Navarro news, I think it’s time for a national conversation about the dangers of Covid-19 & obesity.”

“Apparently he thought it was appropriate to take advantage of the false news that I had Covid to take a shot at my weight,” Navarro said. “If you want to have a conversation about Covid and obesity, you could have had it last October, when your elderly, obese father had it. So it is a legitimate conversation to have, and fortunately for you, you’ve got someone in your family who you can call and discuss it with.”

“Imagine having a father, whose butt is the size of a studio apartment in New Jersey, and you’ve got the gall to pick on me, about my weight?” she said.
