Documentary filmmakers and liberal activist Michael Moore famously predicted that Trump would win in 2016. He now says that he thinks Trump will win again in 2020.

In an interview with The Hill, Moore said do not believe the polls because the Trump voter is always being undercounted.

“I wake up every morning with the assumption that Trump believes he’s going to win, and that’s good enough for me. If he thinks he’s going to win, then I think he’s going to win,” Moore said, explaining that he intends to work every minute of the day until he falls asleep to prevent that from happening. Trump “thinks he’s going to win and I know he’s an evil genius, and he’s smarter than all of us,” Moore said, reiterating the point that people who want to defeat Trump should not relax based on Biden’s apparent advantage in the polls.

In a July 2016 appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Moore warned that the Clinton campaign was not paying enough attention to his home state of Michigan and predicted that Trump would win the election. In September of this year, Moore again sounded the alarm, warning that Biden’s campaign effort in Michigan is “worse than Clinton’s.”

Trump did indeed end up winning the 2016 race, which included winning Michigan by fewer than 11,000 votes – his closest margin of victory in any state. The last time a Republican won Michigan prior to Trump’s 2016 victory was in 1988, when then Vice President George H.W. Bush won the state. The crucial swing state then flipped blue in the 1992 race against Bill Clinton

Former Vice President Joe Biden campaigned with former President Barack Obama in Detroit on Friday, while Trump held four campaign rallies in Pennsylvania. Trump visited Michigan twice last week, on Wednesday and Saturday, and he is slated to return to Michigan on Sunday and Monday.
